MarathonPacks does a fantastic job of slithering through the underbrush that is REM’s DVD compilation (and holiday sticking stuffer) When the Light is Mine: The Best of the IRS Years 82-87. Terrific analysis and companion vids from YouTube to boot. (via Chromewaves)
I especially like the reference to the REM companion book It Crawled from the South which I have and is a book to dip into anywhere and learn something new about REM. It’s not chronological or sensical, but like REM’s early music, it meanders and sways with rhythm and finesse, making it the ideal toilet time book.
